Equatorial Guinea Report on successful Fruit Stand

Funding was used to purchase a commercial blender, cooler, preparation table, fresh fruit, cups, hygiene supplies, and signage, allowing the group to establish and operate the stand.

The project has provided the community with an affordable alternative to highly processed and sugary drinks by offering fresh juices and smoothies made from locally available fruits. It has also created an opportunity for group members to gain practical experience in small-business management, customer service, food preparation, purchasing, and financial management. By sourcing fruits locally, the project has supported local sellers and helped keep money circulating within the community.

The stand has generated regular sales and demonstrated strong potential to become self-sustaining. Revenue is being used to replenish supplies and support continued operations, while future profits can be reinvested to expand the menu, improve the stand, and increase business activity. Beyond the financial benefits, the project has strengthened teamwork and demonstrated our humanist values through practical action focused on community well-being, dignity, cooperation, and self-reliance.

Overall, the project has shown that a small investment can create meaningful health, economic, and social benefits. We are grateful to HuMAN for giving Faro Humanista Group the opportunity to turn a simple idea into a practical and sustainable community initiative
