Samsunahar Bela is a poor woman who's husband worked as a construction worker. Her husband got injured during a construction project and is now disabled. Their future is uncertain.
With sewing machines they can work and earn minimum wage to feed themselves.

$50 to provide sandals to elderly Adivasai (tribal) women in the village of Raigad, a rural areas of Maharashtra province, about 150 kilometers from Mumbai. The "No More Bare Feet" project gave the ladies sandals of good quality and comfort best suited for their daily use. The women had blisters and wounds. so Pain Reliever Ointment and Skin Lotions were also been distributed. This is the last generation HOLDING ON TO BEING BAREOOT in these tribal areas. The help provided was much appreciated by the Women as footwear were never considered important and they were silently bearing the pain. This aid has brought alot of relief to them and also avoided future foot infections.

SHe says: “I am 24 years old. My step-father raped me. The pregnancy test turned out to be positive. When I told my mother what happened, she chased me from home alleging I seduced my step-father. Since then, I stayed with an old lady but she died of heart complications. After her burial, her relatives asked me to seek shelter elsewhere since they cannot look after a pregnant person. I do not have a place to stay. I seek funding for shelter and food at ShelterMi Uganda.

She says: “I am aged 32 years. I lost my first husband to prostate cancer in 2016. In 2017, my parents arranged my second marriage. I gave birth to two premature babies who didn’t survive. My husband’s family attributed this to evil spirits and the marriage was dissolved by the clan elders. In 2019, I got married to a charismatic Pastor. After one year in marriage, due to gross physical abuse and infidelity, I sought guidance and counseling. This made him angry and humiliated him before the congregation. The fights and abuses increased. He took our 6 months old child to his parents and my husband is now threatening any person willing to give me assistance. I am seeking funding for shelter and food at ShelterMi Uganda where my security is guaranteed.

Now she and her family are struggling financially but with the sewing machine she can make needed funds.

$11 to Mayal Lyang Children's Home in Sikkim, India. Funds will buy hygiene products and gifts for the 37 girls there. Items include sanitary pads, deodorant, chocolate, books, board games, socks. The girls are either orphans, or were sexually abused, or neglected.
$47 for Fatima Bulama a young lady with no support to further her education, she got admission in School of Nursing. Funds are for her tuition.

$50 to Nargis Fatema in Bangladesh. Her husband was an Uber driver but he had an accident and was badly injured. He can't work now and the family is struggling financially. HGC funds will help her sew fabric and sell clothes.
