Philippines: School Uniforms for Mangyan Indigenous Students
Philippines: School Uniforms for Mangyan Indigenous Students
$20.00
School uniforms are needed for 11 Mangyan (indigenous) students (6 girls and 5 boys) who have immense socio-economic challenges. The Mangyan community lives a "hand-to-mouth" existence, with families earning a daily wage of only $7 US—an amount barely enough to provide three meals for a family of seven.
The Mangyan community subsists on irregular labor. With families of 5–7 members, the daily income is prioritized for food and survival. School expenses represent a barrier that these families cannot overcome without external support.
The 5 boys need white polo shirts, black pants, and shoes and socks.
Total cost $120
