Radical U.S. History Quiz Contest (90 minutes)
Class Schedule
The Radical U.S. History Quiz Contest is an interactive, high-energy public event that engages audiences in exploring the histories of progressive social movements in the United States. Through a lively quiz format, attendees will test their knowledge across 150 questions spanning a wide range of categories, including women’s rights, Black liberation, labor movements, wealth distribution, LGBTQ rights, animal rights, voting rights, and other transformative struggles for justice and equality.
The contest blends education with entertainment, featuring a dynamic mix of question types such as visual identification (“Who is this face?”), historical quotations (“Who said this quote?”), and traditional trivia covering names, dates, and geographical locations. Separate prizes will be awarded to top scorers in each category, encouraging both breadth and depth of knowledge. Prizes will also be awarded to youth participants.
The event makes radical history accessible and engaging, serving as both an educational tool and a celebratory gathering around the rich legacy of social transformation. It aims to spark curiosity, discussion, and a deeper appreciation of grassroots activism and radical change in U.S. history. It also serves as an effective way to promote the activist goals of the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists, especially its Social Justice Committee.
