We are the LGBTQ+, Humanist, and Atheist Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Gorom Refugee Camp, South Sudan. Every day, we face discrimination, violence, targeted attacks and isolation simply because of who we are and what we believe.

Our Pathway to Safety:

While we wait for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) of South Sudan  to facilitate our pathway to a safe haven, we are stuck in an uncertain and dangerous situation. We rely on the solidarity of supporters like you to help us survive and stay safe until we can find refuge in a country where we can live without fear.

Many of our members face targeted violence and harassment daily. They are often ostracized and subjected to physical and psychological abuse. We need immediate funds to ensure their safety through secure shelters and medical care.

Emergency Food and Water:

We require food and water for our members, especially for the most vulnerable individuals, including those with compromised health.

Safe Shelter for us  Members:

Safe shelters cost about $150 per tent, and we need at least 18 tents for immediate relief. Additionally, we are looking to rent secure housing for some members at risk.

 Medical and Trauma Care

Our members need urgent medical attention, particularly for those living with HIV and other health conditions. Medical consultations cost around $25-$50.

Sanitary Facilities and Essentials

We provide hygiene kits, menstrual products, diapers, and other essentials for our community, including our transgender members, who often face additional challenges with basic care.

Legal Aid and Advocacy:

We face legal barriers in our asylum process, and our members are frequently at risk of arrest due to their sexual orientation or gender identity. We require 

Our goal is to raise $12700 to cover these urgent needs. Every dollar will go directly toward providing food, shelter, medical care, legal support, and essential supplies to those who need it most. With your help, we can provide a lifeline to our community during this critical time.

 Transparency and Accountability:

We are committed to complete transparency. Every month, we will provide updates with photo evidence of purchases and other documentation, so you can see how your donation is making a real difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ refugees in Gorom Camp.
