Mind2Love Humanist Children Sanctuary is a community-based initiative dedicated to providing care, safety, and support to vulnerable children. The sanctuary is coordinated by Hamza Boakai and Juliet Boakai, who oversee the daily care and development of the children.

The children currently living at the sanctuary include Fatu (8), Bendu (6), Jenneh (2), Emmanuel (5), Joseph (4), Saah (4), Mohammed (3), Kumba (2.5), and Tamba (3). These children are the direct beneficiaries of this project.

What Humanism Means to Us

Humanism, for us, is about recognizing that human well-being is built through knowledge, compassion, and practical action. We believe that solutions to challenges such as hunger and poverty come from human effort, cooperation, and responsibility. This project reflects those values by creating a sustainable source of food and income through farming.

Project Summary

Mind2Love Humanist Children Sanctuary is seeking $1,800 in funding to purchase essential hardware and construction materials required for the structural expansion of our orphanage. Our current facility has become too small to adequately accommodate the children, and the existing structure is rough and inadequate for a healthy upbringing. This project will transform our living space into a neat, safe, and dignified environment utilizing stabilized mud-brick construction.

The requested funds will be strictly allocated to the procurement of critical building hardware derived from our surveyor's estimate. This includes purchasing cement for stabilization and plastering, wooden planks for the roof trusses, and durable corrugated roofing sheets. Additionally, the budget covers glass for secure windows, as well as essential plumbing materials such as shower heads, pipes, toilets, and wash basins to construct fully functional and hygienic washrooms adjacent to the newly expanded dormitories.

By securing these materials, we will be able to complete the structural extension and provide a long-lasting, secure home for the children. This expansion will significantly improve the quality of life, hygiene, and daily comfort of the sanctuary, ensuring that our children have a safe space to sleep, learn, and grow.

● Month 3: Installation of timber roofing trusses, corrugated sheets, and fitting of glass windows and doors.

● Month 4: Installation of plumbing materials, shower heads, finishing of the washrooms, and interior plastering.

● Post-Construction: Children are moved into the newly expanded, safe, and spacious dormitories.
